Our lightweight rollators are ideal for indoor use, where you need to maneuver in tight spaces or have limited room. Their light weight makes them easy to transport and store when not in use.
Outdoor rollators are often robust and stable and are suitable for use on uneven terrain and in all types of weather. They can be equipped with slightly larger wheels and shock-absorbing wheels, which give you a secure, comfortable and stable feeling when moving around.
Our carbon fiber rollators are both extremely solid, robust and lightweight, making them the perfect choice if you want a rollator that can handle any challenge you encounter.
No matter which type of outdoor rollator you choose, you can be sure that our rollators at Seniorpleje are of the best quality and designed to give you the best possible experience and feeling of freedom.
A good outdoor rollator with a shopping bag makes shopping easier
A good outdoor rollator is generally designed very differently from indoor rollators. As a rule, they are often a little wider and more robust in appearance. The wheels are often slightly larger to provide good balance and a low center of gravity. The reason for this is that when we are outdoors, we often walk on various types of changing surfaces, and large, soft wheels are generally better at absorbing shock and evening out unevenness from the surface.
Many seniors also use their rollator to transport their groceries home from shopping and the supermarket, and it can therefore be a good idea to decide whether you want a removable bag/shopping net or a fixed bag/box under the seat.
Which seat width should I choose?
We always recommend that you choose an outdoor rollator with a seat, as many people benefit greatly from being able to take a rest. Therefore, it is important that you pay attention to the width of the seat. The majority of our lightweight rollators are fitted with a mesh seat that you can see through. The reason for this is that you can more easily see where you are placing your feet, as well as if an unexpected edge or a raised tile appears. With these mesh seats, you can prevent many tripping accidents without compromising on a good sitting experience.
What type of material should I choose, and is there a big difference in weight?
We have chosen to offer lightweight rollators in either aluminum or carbon fiber, as we want to have the more cumbersome and heavy steel rollators in our assortment. Our aluminum rollators weigh on average about 7 kg and are a very good standard rollator. The choice of type can have a great impact on how easy it is to lift and fold if you have pain in your back, arms or shoulders. It is therefore important to consider whether you need a rollator made of carbon fiber or one with an aluminum frame.
Do you need a foldable and portable rollator?
All our outdoor rollators are foldable and therefore easy to take with you on the go. Whether it's in the boot of your car, on a plane south, or on a train/bus / FLEX transport. All our outdoor models fold sideways and are secured with a safety system (click system) so that they do not open during transport. Most of our rollators have a super smart and innovative "Click safety system" installed, which ensures that your rollator remains securely locked. Until you open it again, simply by pressing the red button or flipping a clip away.
What size should I choose?
Choosing the height and size of a rollator can be very difficult for many. As a general rule, you should stand as upright and relaxed as possible. No matter what type you choose, you should be relaxed in both your shoulders and elbows. You should have an elbow bend of approx. 20-30˚. You measure the height by standing from your wrist down to the floor.
Do you need a good outdoor ramp for your front door?
We always recommend a good and non-slip outdoor ramp for you as a new rollator user. Most people benefit greatly from a rougher or grooved surface, as well as a length of 90-150 cm, depending on the height of your doorstep. If you need professional advice on choosing a ramp for a rollator and wheelchair, we have a healthcare expert in the field ready to help you in our customer service.
