What can relieve pain at night?
There can be countless reasons why people sleep poorly. Many of those with poor sleep quality have chronic pain. Either due to pressure sores, herniated disc, whiplash, infections, or fractures of the spine or pelvis. Regardless of the cause, it can be difficult to lie in a regular bed, as we often put pressure on the same areas of our body. In most cases, we can recommend our comfortable alternating pressure mattress, or perhaps a soft medical lambskin for your bed.

How does an alternating pressure mattress work?
An alternating pressure mattress is constructed from a mattress containing small "bubbles". It is connected to a very quiet pump that can be regulated in strength, depending on how firm/soft the mattress needs to be. It pumps air in and out with alternating pressure, so you constantly change position throughout the night. You won't notice it when you sleep, but over time, your body will feel less sore than before. In other words, it helps to relieve pressure on normally exposed areas of the body, such as the shoulder, hip, neck, buttocks, and back.
It takes approximately 8-10 minutes to inflate, and if you turn off the power, the air will escape. You can choose whether to keep it on all day, or turn it off and only switch it on again when you need to use your mattress for the night. The firmness of the mattress often depends on your weight. If you are light, it shouldn't be pumped too hard, and therefore should be set lower. If you weigh normal or above, it should be set from the middle upwards.
Can an alternating pressure mattress be used in a regular bed?
Our comfortable air mattress works like a regular mattress topper, meaning you simply place it directly on top of your ordinary mattress. It has straps to fasten it at the corners. It fits a standard single mattress and can easily be used for adjustable beds, care beds, and hospital beds.

Is the pump noisy?
Our pump has a very quiet motor, and you will primarily only hear a hiss and some faint humming. Most people will hardly notice it. Some may need to get used to it if they have very sensitive ears. It cannot be compared to the traditional pressure ulcer air mattresses we know from hospitals and home care, which are all very noisy.
Can I get out of the mattress by myself?
Most professional air mattresses, as seen in hospitals, function as large, thick mattresses, and many people find it very difficult to get out of bed, and there is a risk of becoming more immobile when lying on such a mattress.
Our alternating pressure mattress is a professional mattress topper, and it simply lies on top of your regular mattress. It is therefore very easy to get out of, and you do not experience the feeling of "sloshing around" or sinking into the mattress.
Can the worsening of pressure sores be prevented?
It is always preferable to prevent a pressure sore before the damage occurs. The first step is to assess the quality of your night's sleep and whether you wake up multiple times due to pain. If you are affected by pain, or already have chronic pain, we recommend taking quick action and investing in good pressure-relieving products for both day and night.

Who can use an alternating pressure mattress?
